Dynaco makes a difference for Hong Kong ambulances

New, creative applications for our doors? We are all for it! That is why we were excited to cooperate with our Polish partner Kolbud on a very special project. Together, we integrated our doors into a vehicle for the very first time. To be precise: you can now see Dynaco doors on Hong Kong ambulances.
Because of the city’s dense traffic, Hong Kong hospitals were faced with a serious problem: getting people appropriate medical care on time. Especially in emergency situations. That is why they decided to add new vehicles to their existing fleet: ambulances with an operating room, so people’s lives could even be saved on the move.
A noble initiative, yet not so easy, ambulance manufacturer B.A.U.S. realised. In fact, to provide a safe environment for medical interventions, the mobile operating room would have to meet the same stringent conditions as a regular operating room in a hospital. Therefore, they constructed a new type of ambulance, mounting a special container for a mobile operating room on the existing frame. The container’s self-supporting structure is set on levelling cylinders, which maintain the geometry of the body. As a result, the high-speed doors used within the ambulance can function properly in all conditions, even the most challenging ones.
To provide a fully safe, stable and sterile environment within the operating room, the door choice was essential. That is why B.A.U.S. contacted Kolbud, Dynaco’s Polish partner. Together, we designed and delivered a tailor-made solution, by adjusting our D-311 clean room doors. Originally intended for clean room environments, these doors were the obvious choice to ensure stable and safe conditions. The flexible PVC door curtains are pressure resistant and the superior tight seal keeps contaminants out, prevents air leaks and maintains pressure levels where needed. To ensure a sterile environment, all door components were made entirely out of stainless steel. Finally, special translucent strips were then added to the inside of the ambulances, providing light within the operating room, yet limiting visibility from the outside.
The choice of vehicle supplier, the engineering knowledge of those involved and the dedication to meet the customer’s individual requirements have led to an unbeatable solution to save lives on the busy Hong Kong streets.
